Quick Pakoda Recipes – Part 2

The beautiful monsoon has come. In the monsoon every love to enjoy the rain and also love to eat something hot and tasty food. But the tasty food preparation should not take long time as it is the season of enjoying the nature. So for that purpose we have some quick recipes of tasty and mouthwatering pakodas which is the perfect dish for this season.

Hari Mirch ka Pakoda


  • 1 cup besanQuick Pakoda Recipes - Part 2
  • 12 bhavanagari chilies

For the stuffing:

  • 5 boiled raw bananas
  • 4 green chillies
  • 1 tsp dry ginger powder
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying


  1. Put the besan in a bowl add 1/4tsp salt and pour in half a cup of water to make batter. Make sure the batter is not too thin. Set aside.
  2. Wash the bhavnagari chillies and make a slit in the middle of each one . Discard seeds inside and cut them into 2″ pieces.
  3. In a bowl mash the boiled raw bananas and add all the ingredients and mix well.
  4. Take each bhavnagari chilies piece and stuff the banana stuffing in them.
  5. Heat the oil in a kadai , make sure the oil is not too hot.
  6. Dip the stuffed chilies in batches of 4/5 and deep fry in oil.
  7. Serve hot with ketchup.

Moong Dal Pakoda

Ingredients:Quick Pakoda Recipes - Part 2

    • 1 cup moong dal/yellow mung lentils
    • 1 or 2 green chilies, chopped roughly
    • 1 tsp dry ginger powder
    • a pinch of hing
    • ⅛th cup water or as required
    • salt as required
  • oil for deep frying


    1. Soak moong dal in enough hot water for about 2 hours . Drain the water and add them to the grinder.
    1. Add the chopped green chilies, ginger powder and hing. Add water and grind to a smooth paste. You can add some more water if required.
    1. Add salt and mix well.
    1. Stir the batter vigorously for a few minutes.
    1. Heat oil in a kadai.
    1. Drop spoonfuls of the moong dal batter in medium hot oil and fry till crisp and golden.
  1. Serve the moong dal bhajiyas hot with ketchup.

Mix vegetable pakoda


Ingredients for the pakoda batter:Quick Pakoda Recipes - Part 2

  • 3 cups besan/chickpea flour
  • 1  tsp ajwain/carom seeds
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • a pinch or two of hing/asafoetida
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • water to make the batter
  • oil for frying
  • salt

The vegetables:

  • 1 small cucumber
  • 1 small Luffa (Turia) or galka
  • 1 raw bananas
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 4 green chili


  1. Add all the ingredients to a mixing bowl and mix well. Make a smooth batter by adding a little bit of water at a time.The batter should not be too sticky nor too tough.
  2. Peel the bananas. Slice them. Put the slices in salted water for about 15-20 mins so that they do not get discolored. You can also put them in plain water.
  3. Slice the cucumber, turia/galka, ripe bananas.
  4. Slit the green chilies without breaking them. The top and the base of the green chilies must be intact.
  5. Now pat dry the banana slices on a kitchen towel.
  6. Heat oil in a deep frying pan.
  7. Dip the vegetable slices one by one in the batter and coat the slices completely with the batter and slid these into the oil. Turn over after 2-3 minutes and fry the other side.
  8. Fry in batches and drain the fried vegetable pakodas on kitchen tissue.
  9. Sprinkle some chaat masala on the pakodas.
  10. Serve hot with ketchup.
