Quick Pakoda Recipes – Part 1

The beautiful monsoon has come. In the monsoon every love to enjoy the rain and also love to eat something hot and tasty food. But the tasty food preparation should not take long time as it is the season of enjoying the nature. So for that purpose we have some quick recipes of tasty and mouthwatering pakodas which is the perfect dish for this monsoon season.

Paneer Pakoda

Preparation Time : 15 min
Cooking Time : 10 min
Serves : 3 persons

IngredientsQuick Pakoda Recipes - Part 1

  • 1.5 Cup Gram Flour
  • 1 tsp ajwain/carom seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Green Chilli
  • 1/2 tsp garam masla powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chat masala Powder
  • sliced Paneer
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients, except paneer slices.to a mixing bowl and mix well. Make a smooth batter by adding a little bit of water at a time.The batter should not be too sticky nor too tough.
  2. Heat enough oil for deep frying.
  3. Dip the paneer slice in the batter and fry  into the oil.
  4. Serve hot with ketchup.

Corn Pakoda

Preparation Time : 15 min
Cooking Time : 10 min
Serves : 3 persons

IngredientsQuick Pakoda Recipes - Part 1

  • 1.5 cups corn kernels
  • 1 and ½ cups gram flour/besan
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • ½ tsp dry ginger powder
  • ¼ tsp red chili powder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp garam masala powder
  • a pinch of asafoetida
  • ¼ tsp crushed black pepper (optional)
  • ¼ tsp fennel powder (optional)
  • salt as required
  • water as required
  • chaat masala as required for sprinkling on the pakodas
  • oil for deep frying

 Instructions

  1. Boil corn kenels with water in a pot/ pressure cooker.
  2. Drain and let them cool.
  3. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients listed above with the corn kernels, except for the oil.
  4. Add water and make a smooth flowing batter of medium consistency.
  5. Heat oil in a kadai.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter in medium hot oil and fry the pakodas till golden and crisp.
  7. Serve the corn pakoras hot with ketchup ,while serving, sprinkle some chaat masala on the corn pakodas.

Capsicum Pakoda

Preparation Time : 15 min
Cooking Time : 10 min
Serves : 3 persons

IngredientsQuick Pakoda Recipes - Part 1

  • 1 cup Chickpea flour (Besan)
  • ½ cup Rice Flour
  • 1 cup finally chopped Capsicum
  • 1 tsp dry Ginger powder
  • 1 Tbsp Curry leaves, roughly torn
  • 2 Green Chilli, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Asafetida (Hing)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ cup Hot Oil
  • ¼ cup Water (or more, as required)

 Instructions

  1. Caramelize capsicum: In a nonstick pan take 1 tbsp oil. Add finely chopped capsicum & salt and mix well. Cook it for 4-5 minutes, with stirring constantly until it has reduced by more than half. Take it in a mixing bowl.
  2. Now add all the ingredients to a mixing bowl and mix well. Make a smooth dough by adding a little bit of water at a time. It require ¼ to ½ cup of water. The dough should not be too sticky nor too tough.
  3. Heat enough oil for deep frying.
  4. Drop the dough into the oil in different places & shapes & sizes. The don’t have to be of the same size or shape. This exposes maximum area to the oil and hence, you get crispier Pakoda
  5. Serve hot with ketchup.
